Hi.
So, first things first, introductions:
My name is Alice and I'm 25 years old. Just over a year ago I was diagnosed with a health condition which called for a diet that goes very easy on my digestive system. In the same week my mother read about Deliciously Ella, we checked out her blog and boom, that was it. I was on a plant-based diet to perpetuity.
I do not eat:
Meat
Dairy
Gluten
Alcohol
Caffeine
Which seems like a lot to cut out, but I had been a pescatarian since childhood, and my heart rate already had my doctor pleading with me to cut out both caffeine and alcohol. I can't pretend to you that I don't miss cheese though.
I also occasionally eat fish and eggs. They're easy on the system and much much nicer that taking vitamin supplements.
This is not going to be a recipe blog as much as sharing my experience eating this way. Links to blogs that have become my lifelines, links to shops that fill my cupboards and restaurant reviews; as well as any tips and tricks that I pick up along the way. I also plan to talk about how I manage to cook for my kalephobic other half at the same time.
I really do get sick of hummus, I love it really, but since it is the easiest standby food for me I end up eating it a lot. This diet is hard but this way of eating has made things so much easier for me. I am in no way advocating this lifestyle. It is not for everyone, but it works for me.
